26 new free movies coming to The Roku Channel in December

Every week, we put together a list of free movies to watch on The Roku Channel. In this edition, we’re sharing the new free movies that arrive on The Roku Channel on December 1st. Highlights include Titanic which turns 20 this month, a couple films starring Julia Roberts, and a totally underrated Robin Williams flick.

FEATURED MOVIES ON THE ROKU CHANNEL IN DECEMBER

  • Titanic (1997) – A seventeen-year-old aristocrat falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. (P.S. As I mentioned above, this movie is being re-released in theaters in December for its 20th anniversary, so don’t hesitate to watch Titanic more than once this month! 😉)

  • Bloodsport (1988) – Follows Frank Dux, an American martial artist serving in the military, who decides to leave the army to compete in a martial arts tournament in Hong Kong where fights to the death can occur. Starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Donald Gibb.

  • Eat Pray Love (2010) – A woman realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce, she takes off on a round-the-world journey to “find herself”. Starring Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem.

  • Home Of The Brave (2006) – Three soldiers struggle to readjust to life at home after returning home from a lengthy tour in Iraq. Starring Samuel L. Jackson and 50 Cent.
  • Ironweed (1987) – An alcoholic drifter spends Halloween in his home town of Albany, New York after returning there for the first time in decades. Starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep.
  • It Takes Two (1995) – Two young girls who are identical, but complete strangers, accidentally meet one day. In an attempt to stop Alyssa’s father from getting married to Clarice, a conceited know-it-all, the girls get him to meet Amanda’s case worker and switch lives to stop the wedding once and for all. Starring Kirstie Alley and Steve Guttenberg.
  • Little Women (1994) – The March sisters live and grow in post-Civil War America. Starring Susan Sarandon and Winona Ryder. Starring Winona Ryder and Susan Sarandon.
  • Love Story (1970) – A boy and a girl from different backgrounds fall in love regardless of their upbringing – and then tragedy strikes. Starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal.
  • Marie Antoinette (2006) – The retelling of France’s iconic but ill-fated queen, Marie Antoinette. From her betrothal and marriage to Louis XVI at 15 to her reign as queen at 19 and to the end of her reign as queen, and ultimately the fall of Versailles. Starring Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman.
  • Mystic Pizza (1988) – Three teenage girls come of age while working at a pizza parlor in the Connecticut town of Mystic. Starring Annabeth Gish and Julia Roberts.
  • Soul Plane (2004) – Things get raucously funny aboard the maiden flight of a black-owned airline, thanks to some last-minute passenger additions. Starring Dwayne Adway and Snoop Dogg.
  • The Family Jewels (1965) – A young heiress must choose between six uncles, one of which is up to no good and out to harm the girl’s beloved bodyguard who practically raised her. Starring Jerry Lewis and Sebastian Cabot.
  • The Fisher King (1991) – A former radio DJ, suicidally despondent because of a terrible mistake he made, finds redemption in helping a deranged homeless man who was an unwitting victim of that mistake. Starring Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams.
  • The Gospel (2005) – This is a story about a successful young R&B singer that has an unlikely homecoming when his father, the bishop, becomes ill. Starring Boris Kodjoe and Idris Elba.
  • The Kite Runner (2007) – After spending years in California, Amir returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend Hassan, whose son is in trouble. Starring Khalid Abdalla and Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada.
  • The Net (1995) – A computer programmer stumbles upon a conspiracy, putting her life and the lives of those around her in great danger. Starring Sandra Bullock and Jeremy Northam.
