If you’re like me, when you have time to watch TV, you want to find and stream the TV episode or movie as quickly as possible. That’s where Roku® voice search can help save you some precious time. Voice search allows you to quickly search for the entertainment you want to watch without having to type using the on-screen keyboard.
We recently added some cool enhancements to voice search, with Roku OS 8, that we think you’ll love. In addition to using your voice for specific TV show, movie, actor, actress and director searches such as “Game of Thrones” or “Tom Hanks,” you can now use voice search in a more conversational way. For example, now you can:
- Say “Show me movies with Tom Hanks” or “I want to watch The Walking Dead”
- Get even more specific and speak a command like “Search for comedies with Will Ferrell” or “Show me some dramas on Hulu”
- Launch a channel easier than ever by simply saying “Launch HBO NOW” or “Open VUDU”
A number of Roku streaming devices, including the new Roku Ultra, Roku Streaming Stick+ and Roku Streaming Stick include a voice remote to make it easy to conduct a voice search at the press of a button. If your Roku device doesn’t have a voice remote, all Roku customers in the U.S. can use the Roku mobile app for iOS® and Android™ to conduct voice searches. Simply tap the search icon on the home screen, tap the microphone and tell us what you want – in the way you want to say it.
