this week we are at a very special Makita event we sure are and there’s tons of new tools to show you there’s a really cool framing nailer a sander tons of outdoor power equipment and a lot more this is the Dual [Music] show hey guys welcome back to the tool show I’m Rob that’s Sarah we are at Makita power on 2024 and there is a ton of cool stuff to see so Sarah where do you want to start did you know that you can charge 12 batteries at once what yeah [Music] all right guys I’m here with my buddy Tyler who’s going to tell us all about some of the new Makita battery Solutions I noticed behind you we’ve got cases with a lot of batteries in them please tell me this charges these batteries absolutely it does so we actually have here is our multi-port chargers so you can see on the left we have our 12 port and on the right we have our eight Port charging uh Solutions and we really wanted to be able to highlight the ability of Makita bringing you that modern day gas tank or bringing you the amount of energy that you need to be able to complete your job that day right so right here we have you could actually plug in four of these on a standard 15 amp outlet so you can have all the batteries you would ever need right now how how sequential is the charging when you plug in three of those like that yeah so actually each one is going to charge sequentially so you can see here that it goes one 2 and three it’s going to charge these batteries four at a time until they’re completely charged but so it is it’s it’s parallel in the sense that it’s doing four batteries at once though yeah and if you have four of them plugged into a 15a outlet you’re going to be charging all 12 of those batteries at once that’s amazing yeah awesome all right so and these are the two different sizes the bc1 the bcc2 the only difference between these is capacity yes absolutely okay great and we can move over here so you can see our charging Center we wanted to be able to highlight our ability especially in the professional landscaping Community to be able to give you guys the amount of batteries that you need you know referring back to that modern day gas tank those end users are going to be going out they’re going to be loading up with gasoline that they need to be able to complete their job this is that so we want to be able to highlight on two circuits you can charge up to 40 slide style batteries those are those are those 40 uh those 4 amp hour and uh 5 a hour batteries yep and 12 of 12 of the PDC batteries so the 120000 backpacks yeah absolutely so each one of these shelves represent an entire Landscaping crew between four person and six person Landscaping crew for an entire day um we could get even more detailed with the fact that these are just standard digital timers it doesn’t have to be super complex or complicated it’s a standard Digital Timer each one of these is going to charge all of these batteries it’s going to be able to direct the power into into the uh inverters in the back trying to changeing that AC current to DC current charging these batteries and once these are all charged it’s going to switch over to the next to the next row of batteries again all of these batteries being able to be charged in one night that’s awesome all right so talk to me about these two larger Chargers the bcc1 and the O2 uh pricing and availability so availability these should be hitting our Market uh in 2025 and the pricing will be more available then sounds good all right thanks apprciate thank you all right guys we’re here with my buddy Robert at Makita event and we have got one of the more unique things I have seen so far today and Robert’s going to tell us all about it Robert what exactly does this little gray box do so basically this is a programmer to take technology that we already have built into the xgt tools and batteries from day one so any xgt tools that you’ve already purchased in the past are going to in the future you can use this device to pincode them together to prevent people from taking the tool and worst case scenario if they happen to walk off the job site they can they’re just not going to be able to use it anymore so so you’re saying you’re going you’re going to teach a battery to only work on certain tools or teach a tool to only work with certain batteries yeah the easiest way to think of it is you’re just going to pin code them together with whatever pin you want this is a onetime purchase and all you’re going to do is slide it on the battery here and then you’re going to hook it up to the application for any iOS or computer system you need it’s all included there’s no subscription base or anything okay you lock it get together how you want and then you lock your tools and your or batteries however you want to you own it all so none of that data is in the cloud what what tools you own what batteries you own it’s not nothing like that this is literally a programming tool for you to as we said identify a specific tool specific batteries and say only like tell this battery I only want you to work with I’m assuming multiple tools though right so I can say I want this battery to only work with my hammer drill and my resip absolutely that’s amazing and so xgt has been out like 4 years now so they’re all compatible with this already from day one that feature was hiding inside this whole time sure was the technology this is just going to unlock it yeah exactly the the important Point here is all of the features and all the capabilities in the tool and in the battery this just allows you to program it the technology the the sophistication is not in the adapter itself yeah it’s in the tool and the battery and you’re just locking those together with the PIN code of you’re choosing you own all the information we don’t collect it other than a warranty registration that’s all there is we don’t collect anything we don’t we’re not connected gotcha It’s a Wonderful product and it’s going it’s going to keep your tools protected however you choose to and you can use it for anything that you’ve already purchased anything you’re going to purchase in the future that’s awesome cool Robert so now this is something you’re still working on right it’s not available yet absolutely not yet it will be soon we’re just final finalizing some details for the market and it we’ll be ready to go here but the technolog is there and it’s awesome Robert thanks for your time appreciate thank you all right Robert’s also showing off something else really cool a brand new Makita looks like a Bluetooth is this a Bluetooth speaker radio what is it it’s a cordless jobsite Bluetooth speaker that you can tie together you can pair together up to 10 units all together so you have your parent model and all your child you can control them all together all is one or simultaneously and this will work with either lxt or xgt batteries platform it is extremely loud and really clear so you can run this all the way up to 99 DBA and it’ll still be crystal clear we’re not going to do that today obviously cuz we don’t want to run anybody out that’s perfectly fine but the important part is when you’re on a job site and you want to hear it you can actually go up above all of the noise of the job site but still hear it and it’s not going to be distorted the thing is an absolute monster it is absolutely amazing the sound quality is absolutely incredible and it’s got so many slick features here we have an auxiliary port we have a microphone if you wanted to get into karaoke of course are you kidding on the job upsite all the time exactly yeah which you know is always the fun side but we also like to say you know if you actually are out there and you need to do announcements to your whole crew you need to be allowed hook up your microphone and you can actually use this it’s a PA system exactly that is amazing a great idea so we have auxiliary you can obviously use it on either battery platform or you can plug it in uh you know with your with typical AC connector very cool so you get your USB port right here so you can also charge you know your phone or anything else that you want Oh off the same batteries is IP rated IP is uh IP 64 excellent so you’re you know as good as you’re going to get it with any kind of job site speaker and this thing is absolutely awesome very cool all right pricing and availability so it is it’ll be on the market here in uh one day awesome and the price is going to be $249 retail price for the whole unit comes ready to go a few months ago Greco reached out and asked if we’d like to be the very first to try the new Graco truecoat 360 handheld cordless connect drill paint sprayer it turned any prograde drill or impact into an airless paint sprayer and we loved it it was very affordable super easy to use and our projects never look better but when Graco sent the true coat they also included one of these a Graco Ultra quick shot now this is a pro sprayer for small jobs we’re talking Interiors or exterior doors accent walls cabinets trim decks Garage Doors and out buildings while preparing our house for sale recently Sarah asked if I could tackle the job of painting a total of 17 doors I immediately thought of the ultra quick shot it’s powered by a standard Dewalt 20 volt battery and with just a 2 a hour battery you can spray up to a gallon of paint now the first thing I noticed was the ergonomics the sprayer is this part here with a 32 o cup mounted on top and your spray gun is this little thing at the end of a 6t hose making it super light and easy to maneuver you can either carry the sprayer with your free hand or simply clip it to your belt and pour more paint into the cup right on your hip the instant response electric powered gun virtually eliminates spits it has a super light trigger pole and you can easily adjust material flow with the dial on the gun ranging from 100 to 2,000 PSI and it supports from 0.008 in to 0.016 in tips I could not believe how easy it was to paint the doors how fast I did it or how professional the Finish looked when I was done best of all Cleanup is a snap now if you want and Acme Tool all right we decided to step outside in the sunshine to meet the Mario l who’s going to walk us through the new tablet cell batteries from Makita I’m excited about this we’ve seen tablet um cells and other tools before and it always makes a remarkable difference it’s got to be why you guys are doing this yeah absolutely look I think as the market continues to evolve tablet is out there but what we wanted to do here is really bring the technology into our xtt platform when you look at what we have on our range I’m showing you here our BL 4040 which is our standard 21700 battery then we have over here on the on the pillar on the right hand side we have the 50 which is our b4040 450f and now we have our BL 440f which is a tablet cell technology so it delivers up to 35% more power than your standard 40 it also delivers up to 32% better cooling efficiency when under hydrain applications which is a really big benefit to tablet cells altogether but the big thing here is we’re delivering equivalent power to our 50 battery without the burden of the weight specifically signicant small exactly specifically within some of the higher power products out there that really deem the power necessary awesome so we see a demo absolutely what I’m going to do for you today is I’m going to run this 10 and 1/4 in rear handle circular saw the standard BL 4040 which is still a fantastic experience and we’re going to cut some 2x material similarly in a 4X cut here and then I’m going to switch to a 5 and then show you what the tablet cell technology can really deliver to this all right we’re ready let’s [Applause] [Music] go I’m going to stop you up that’s our 44 40f now we’re going to try the 4050 F which is our 5 battery so as you can see it’s still gives you higher energy density and more power you can actually hear a difference you can you absolutely can and now let’s do the new BL 440f tablet battery from [Music] Makita awesome Mario thank you so tell me when will the new tablet cell batteries be available tablet cell batteries are going to be launching today and we’re going to have them available to the market in the next couple months sounds good thanks Mario appreciate [Music] it all right guys we’ve all seen packout stack pack mod box tough stack all these different modular toolboxes all tend to look exactly the same they all stack vertically and they’re about the same size Makita wanted to bring their own solution to the space but they decided to stop following everybody else and design something from the ground up that’s focused on this guy the pickup truck they found by far that most people that need to move their tools are using this to get the tools to the job site so their system is designed around it and it starts with this this is their rolling toolbox and as you can see it’s big it’s low so it fits inside and it also has a really really clever handle that’s designed to help just me by myself get this out of my truck so as I pull it out of the truck you’ll notice on the handles they’ve got something they call gecko grips I’m going to scoot it over in these rails here so the gecko grips help grab onto your um tailgate and as you set it down it keeps it from Rolling away so now as I walk ground I can grab my toolbox and take it all by myself now of course there are a lot of guys that don’t need to move their tools out of their tool truck just to get the job done cuz the truck’s close enough so what if you want to work outside of the back that’s where this is designed to shine so I’m going to easily pick this up put it back in the truck and of course if I’m re reaching over the side and I put this on the right side of the truck I can reach in unlock it lift it up it’s got place for organization you’ve got a tray you’ve got a divider works great right right but what if I’ve got one of these on one side and another one on the other or I need to just put this on the left side of the truck the rolling toolboxes are hinged on both sides you can open it up either direction and yes you can entirely take the lid off and set it to the side if you just want to use this as a bin to carry things that are too tall uh and get them to the job site super clever super unique unlike anything else we’ve seen so far once you’ve got this guy which is your base around 250 bucks which is going to store as much as around two packouts the pricing is very very competitive the next step is going to be adding the large toolbox and when they say large they mean large this guy is the same size as the rolling toolbox we drop it on and it clicks right in this also has the same dual hinge top so you can open it up from either side and access everything and of course because you don’t have rails or a handle behind it it means that I can lift the entire thing up and grab things out without taking all the rest of them off the top which is pretty clever next we have the medium toolbox which is this guy right here now it opens on one side okay but you’ll notice that it doesn’t open from the long end but the short the reason why is because I may want to be able to access tools from that side or I’m going to take it off turn it around and and it can lock in either direction so now I can access my tools from that side but of course what would a storage system be without storage so we’ve got their medium deep storage box with tons of different Cubbies inside to organize all your tools plus we’ve got this lowprofile medium organizer plus we got a deep compact organizer that takes up half the space again but you’ll notice that everything is based upon those original four rails so when you have something small like this they can even cross over and lock them all together absolutely ingenious and of course we have the extra large extension box that gives you an extra deep space for all those extra large tools and one of the more interesting things about this is that on the front of the rolling toolbox you see this thing here that is an accessory CLE we’re going to be able to take this extra large toolbox we don’t have room down there and we’re going to use this French cleat on the back to slide it right on utilizing that extra space where that handle’s out allowing me to pick up an awful lot of tools and still get them in the truck all by myself so makido waited a while to jump into the modular storage system but boy did they make a splash when they did this is unlike anything we’ve seen before and yes the boxes are bigger more rugged they’re going to cost a bit more but the reality is their rolling toolbox is going to hold as much much as a packout rolling toolbox plus a large toolbox which makes these about the same price across the board they’re going to have seven different products at launch sometime this fall and all the pricing we’ve seen has been very very aggressive I think this is one of the most unique additions to the modular tool storage system that we have seen yet and I’m really excited to see what you guys think of it all right guys next I’m here with Christian who’s showing off brand new random orbit sard I am excited about this primarily just at one L from that form factor I’m a huge huge fan of palm STS like that and I can’t really wait to tell you about this tool we’ve done so much Innovation when it comes to the sanding uh category here traditionally you’re used to seeing Sanders that are battery operated with the battery attach either here or usually some time at the bottom but when you’re but when you’re here what are you’re sacrificing here more weight more added weight to your material and if you move the battery here what are you sacrificing more power from the battery you need more like a Slimmer profile battery I don’t like my hand being that far away from the material either agreed now so now we also did some research you on our own business right you always got to know yourself before you take next step right this is one of our most popular centers so we decided to in gratiate the 6 in straight into our new xgt system here so our gbc1 CZ here is our newest standard 6 in brushless xgt has a speed a here that will give you anywhere between 6 to 10,000 opms wow 41% less vibration than his pneumatic comparator 40% more power ful and and you can get up to about 48 minutes of continuous sanding with an xgt 4.0 battery you’re kidding not at all with the AWS system that we have which connects to our dust extracting system automatically turns on the duster Right Wireless communication for that dust extraction which is extremely OSHA compliant which is what you actually always want yep no paddle switch at all why because most guys change your paper like that they’re hitting the paddle switch and they’re hitting the paddle switch so you decide to use electronic button which is easy to use and just fits naturally around the hand right very cool very cool well we made it cordless because obviously that’s the way that the world is going but we want to distribute the weight correctly on the actual tool we want to free up as much weight here as possible from so you move the battery off the sander off the sander and onto a belt clip similar to this that you can e Mount whether be on your back or if you have a good flat surface or a nice plenty up room it can just sit right there all away from the whole surface completely well you got this arm strap too now the arm strap this is this is actually pivot this is very pivotal and the reason why we made the arm strap is because we want you to have full range motion on your actual work piece there’s guys that work overhead there’s guys that works on walls there’s even guys that work underneath right or we just want you to have full control and no cords in the way of every being seped or all on the work piece so it actually keeps a clear free workspace for you to actually see that’s really clever I dig it man all right so price and availability all right availability is it’s out now so it’s out today you can actually grab one today It’s $249 is a bar tool and it comes standard here with just the clip itself batter is not included because obviously it’s just a bare tool but it does come with the dust extraction uh catcher here for you as well as your cord for your xgt battery very cool now are we going to see a performance difference if we use any of the new tablet cell batteries no all right I didn’t think it’s necessary especially if you’re getting 42 minutes of runtime out of something you’re probably not struggling to pull energy out of the battery definitely not I mean in 42 minutes of of continuous sanding is quite a bit if you’re doing that I don’t want to do that no one wants you do no absolutely pretty tedious right I’ll have Sarah do it absolutely all right guys I’m here with Fernando now with a cool new xgt 3-in wide belt sander that has a really unique feature that caught my eye from way over that way Fano thanks for joining us tell us all about this new Bel sander so we have our Legacy product our our corded version of the 3×21 Belt Sander and as you guys heard throughout the day two days that you’ve been here we’re committed not only to the xgt but expanding our portfolio in The Woodworking space course you guys have seen the 6in uh orbit sander the router that’s outside that’s extremely powerful and now we converted a coreless version of the 3×21 uh th sander so couple unique things the first thing that we want to showcase is the AWS Bluetooth enable vacuum system back here on and it has a system going on okay the other cool thing is that the power the biggest factor is to make sure that it performs as good as the corded it does it has 20% a little a 20% more efficient sanding power wow um the other thing that makes it super cool and super unique is the adjustable handle and it does two functions it either gives you like if you’re standing at the edge it gets out of the way yep so you can see yep also you can adjust it to the length that you want so if you want to put a lot more pressure less pressure you can kind of hold it with so if you’re really focus on lots of material removal put that out there boom you’re going going Town you’re putting all that weight the coolest part about the handle and this is your this is what I talking about it is is we are going to be selling some accessory clamps that go into these holes and you can put it upside down it’ll be a standalone belt Senter that you can connect to your workbench so this this becomes a benchtop yes sander that so clever to me I absolutely love it and I again in the past I’ve been guilty of this too is taking belt Sanders and clamping them the best way we can just cuz you want to take some fine pieces and just clean things up or whatever this is absolutely fantastic so there will be accessories yes sir so it’ll be the accessory that I just identified and then there’ll be another guide rail with the stop that goes in here as well so voice of customer the feedback that you guys provided we’re keep you know we’re hearing you and we’re trying to make sure that we kind of bring bring in and or adopt whatever’s feasible yeah and a lot of these things so it does have a 5-speed variable speed system here um it does you know obviously the bigger the battery it doesn’t make it flat but we do have our new tablet battery that’s a 4 you know 4 amp that will give you a little bit more run time and a just a tiny bit more power but I’m super excited everybody that’s used it um states that it’s it’s it’s a corded version power-wise yeah but I don’t know You’ be the judge of that you go ahead and run it I’ll give it a try for go next we’re here with Tommy who’s going to tell us about the allnew lxt framing nailor super excited about this one Tommy yeah and we are too again 21° framing nailer um so some of the solutions we’re providing is number one longer run time up to 25 % longer than competitors 1,000 nails with our 5 a hour battery with our 2 a hour battery you’re still going to get 400 Nails no kid uh the biggest complaint we have on framing nailers in the market is weight so we’re reducing that weight by 7 pounds with a 5 amp hour up to a pound and a half with our 2 a hour cool has a little less recoil and then also we’ve improved the durability of the air chamber internal to the tool right so when you look at overall it’s uh longer runtime less weight less recoil and more durability uh so let’s talk about some of the features so have a really nice aggressive claw so when you’re doing toe nailers trying to get into those application if you don’t want that if you we have a no more piece you can also this includeed in the box that’s available you have an adjustment here so if you want to you know if you’re doing harder harder wood you can adjust uh tooless adjustment for the nail depth uh tooless nail depth adjustment as far as nail size we’re going anywhere from 2 in all the way up to 3 and 1 half so full 16d uh so 1113 up to 148 uh insertion right here on the top side a lot of guys have asked and uh it’s only one per uh per chamber as far as one strip of nails per Chambers as far as getting that in there you simply just pull this back and flip it up and that that allows the nails to come in this does have a what’s called a um a dry fire mechanism when you get three or four Nails left it actually stops oh because we don’t want to damage the internal components which you can do by running it without nails exactly exactly so that’s that’s a nice feature on the tool it also has a nice belt clip so when I’m going to the next section of the job in addition on the far side we have a a nice U rafter hook so when I’m having a cut wood or whatever that is now far as starting the the saw starting the tool very quick I’ve already got it on so it has single fire and it also has bump fire bump fire as well now this will be available in uh q1 okay January to March gotcha and then soon after this one we have a 30° clipped head coming excellent soon after that you have price range yet uh not yet but it’s going to be competitive to the similar Market uh competitors all right I’ve got my safeties on can I give it a try yes sir you can sounds good all right awesome [Music] all right guys next we’re out here with Larry who has a very very cool new xgt sweeper Larry thanks so much for joining us I appreciate it absolutely wel can you tell us about this guy so this is our new xgt sweeper it’s 25 1/2 inch cleaning path um it’s about 11 times faster than someone with a push broom I believe that’s the biggest Advantage yeah is it a v so it does have a vacuum feature okay but that is more just to help capture the dust if you’re Sweeping in dusting Environ that makes sense yep so it does have a vacuum feature two speeds it has two rollers underneath that are rolling in opposite directions to catch scoop everything up throw it into the catch Basin back here at 6 and2 gallon capacity that’s not bad we also have an 112 gallon capacity that will soon come awesome has lights on it if you’re in low light environments sure it also has a vibration feature to clean help the filter that’s awesome so with the xgt platform form it does take two batteries pop that but it only runs on one at a time okay so with two batteries you’re going to clean about 93,000 Square ft holy on a single charge awesome but this isn’t quite available yet right not not quite yet I believe this is going to launch in December of this year sounds good thanks Larry sir appreciate it Bud all right guys we just came out to the op area to see what’s new at Makita luckily Nicole’s here to Phils and Nicole thanks for joining us I appreciate it what is exciting in op uh what’s exciting today is we’re focusing on pro products and how you take a gas truck or trailer and convert that over to battery equipment okay so specifically with battery equipment to convert that trailer it’s two types of battery you have right there your 40 volt xgt slide style it’s going to be for handheld products so say your string trimmer your Edge or hedge trimmer is right there gotcha but we know that on trailers we have a lot of high demand products Mowing and blowing moving air it’s always a challenge so to be able to get an acceptable amount of runtime with that we do have our connect series here that high Capac battery that can be a backpack style again mounting onto a backpack blow or even Mount directly onto a lawn mower very very cool all right so you guys have like three new products that we’re focus on today right both and xgt excellent all right let’s go take a look okay I’m keeping this thing so this is our new backpack blower it’s 25 Newtons of blowing Force previously we had the 22 Newton generation back there behind and we actually changed some of the ergonomics made it more like a traditional gas backpack style and you can see he’s got everything from a waist belt shoulder strap chest strap and load lifters to keep those ergonomics with this blower and then that is our new backpack blower product again on our connect series on our xgt series we have two new products the first one here I have is our edger 31cc gas power equivalency and again keeping on that slide style 40 volt xgt battery platform once again really looking to convert a gas trailer over to battery powered and then I’ll lay that one down here and show you especially a product I’m excited for our new short shaft articulating pole hedge trimmer you can see the motor is in the head for excellent balance with this unit and it does have the articulation range so you can go ahead and do overhead or low-lying Hedges but it’s still with that short shaft form factor that you can trim a lot of like close bushes and keep it maneuverable so these two products are going to be available in October and then the backpack lower you saw there is going to be available in November awesome our next stop is with rupis who has something really cool [Applause] this this is not just xgt this is xgt X2 an 80 volt tool right yes it is an 80 volt tool and one thing we’re proud of this is now going to be the world’s most powerful cordless breaker really uh you know a 70 lb cordless breaker um we’re going to have 73 Jews and be the most powerful in the industry another couple things that we’re proud of versus corded units out there as we know time is money we’re going to have 70% faster breaking efficiency and last but not least that Eng us is going to say hey with my cord how much runtime am I going to get on this thing so we were actually able to get out in the field and get some data and it breaks up an 8T by 6t 4 in 5,000 psi concrete on on a single charart single charge awesome all right price and availability yes so we’ll have a two battery kit that’ll be $25.99 excellent and then we’ll have a four battery kit that’ll be 3149 available now awesome Rufus appreciate your time thanks thank you all right guys next we’re with Michael here who’s going to show us the new xgt plunge ridle Michael it’s so nice to meet you thank you for showing this to us what makes this thing special yeah so as you said this is our new xgt so it’s a 40 volt Max platform plunge router it is in the two and a qu horsepower range right so 30% lighter than your corded version in that same power range which now you’re not dragging a cord around so top site much easier to deal with running on a battery um it has a lot of the great standard features Makita is very well known in the routers over the years of woodworking we have a lot of guys are real dedicated to Makita woodworking tools so we kept a lot of the adjustments the same so it’s something they’re very comfortable with but what’s a little bit different um you do have a light in space when you turn it on right so it lights up you got your variable speed and then you do have Bluetooth dust collection right there which is oh great fantastic yep awesome and this this guy’s already available now isn’t it it’s available now it’s on the website today go I got to go get [Music] one so yes we’re at a Makita event this week but did you think that meant that we wouldn’t have a platinum tool deal from Ohio power tool because we do and this week’s Platinum deal can
